Google's acquisition of email security and compliance firm Postini has received the green light from the Federal Trade Commission, clearing any possible antitrust roadblocks.
The $625 million
all-cash deal is set to close in the third quarter of 2007--part of the search giant's plan to reassure large businesses that using the Google Apps suite of email, documents and other applications is
a safe, secure investment.
The FTC found that the acquisition didn't raise any anti-competitive flags, and as such, terminated the standard Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period early.
