Blockbuster Buys Movielink Download Service

Blockbuster is buying its way into the digital movie downloading business staked out by competitor Netflix.

The Dallas-based video rental chain is buying digital movie download service Movielink and will continue to operate it as a standalone service.

Eventually, some elements will be available through Blockbuster's Total Access program, an online-ordering/mail-delivery service that also allows returns at Blockbuster stores.
