Bucking the trend of newspapers dropping online subscription models (i.e., The New York Times' TimesSelect, The Wall Street Journal's wsj.com), the Chicago Sun Times plans to launch a paid electronic
edition, which will provide its print subscribers with unrestricted access.
Massachusetts-based Clickshare Service Corp. said it has been chosen by the paper to provide a
subsciption management platform, Web capture and processing of print subscriptions.
"We chose Clickshare for our electronic edition because we wanted to give our print customers the added benefit
of our E-edition while increasing our paid circulation," said John Cary, senior director of online operations for the Sun-Times.
