TiVO is proceeding with its plans to introduce an upgraded digital video recorder next year. It announced a microchip deal with Broadcom Corporation at the NCTA show. The TiVo Series2 will enable
third party developers to deliver applications and services to TiVo subscribers through a broadband connection. It provides increased recording capacity at a lower cost, recording and storing up to 60
hours of programming. The Series2 will allow consumers to enjoy future entertainment services such as music, digital photos, video games, Internet radio and broadband video.
