A federal court in Wisconsin has rejected a demand by Procter & Gamble that rival Kimberly-Clark stop running its "brick baby" ad campaign for Huggies diapers. P&G, maker of the Pampers and Luvs
brands, sued Kimberly-Clark over the spots, and wanted an injunction stopping the campaign. It claims the company was unfairly disparaging other diapers, as the ads suggest other brands are more
suited for bricks than babies.
"We are disappointed in the ruling because we think the current advertising is not fair or accurate, and we don't think it serves consumers well," says Lisa
Jester, a spokeswoman for P&G. "We are reviewing all of our options." The company has a 43% market share in diapers, while Kimberly-Clark holds 41%.
