After two years on its own,
TV Guide has rejoined the Magazine Publishers of America (MPA), effective immediately. “The MPA is an essential resource for us, as well as the entire publishing
industry. It has a real impact with legislators, with advertisers, and with consumer marketers,” said John Loughlin, TV Guide Publishing Group President. Gemstar-TV Guide International had pulled out
of MPA in 2001 after it refocused its attention to electronic program delivery. TV Guide is in the middle of a product “reinvigoration,” having recently named J. Scott Crystal publisher of its
publishing group, and a new editor will be named shortly. The look of the nine million circulation title is also in flux, as the layout of the magazine is being updated and new columns are under
consideration.
