Well, believe it or not, Christmas is only a few months away and I know it's hard to even think of right now, but everyone is starting to talk about this year's "Hottest Toy List."
I was reading an article on cnn.com and read that "Seven out of the Top Twelve Toys for this year have a screen or monitor." This includes toys like Barbie Girls MP3 Player and the Smart Cycle Learning Arcade by Fisher Price...which is literally a bike that is hooked up to a television set and the child "drives" through cities and towns learning important skills.
Are you kidding me?! Sure, I know that toy companies are just trying to keep up with the popularity of products like the iPod, but there are two questions that come to mind.
1. Are we spoiling children by purchasing
these extravagant and tech-savy presents and ultimately setting really high expectations in regards to gifts?
2. Or are we just preparing them for a highly technological advanced world?
