Journal Register Company advertising revenues increased 2.2% to $22.4 million for the four weeks ended March 3, 2002 as compared to $21.9 million for the four weeks ended March 4, 2001. On a
same-store basis, the company's advertising revenues were down 5.9% for Period Two of the current year as compared to the prior year period. This reflects directional improvement in year-over-year
advertising revenue trends as compared to those reported in Period One due to improvement in retail and classified advertising revenues.
