Glam.com, flagship site of media network Glam Media, is holding an online contest for budding designers titled "Be Discovered: Design A Dress."
MSN.com will host behind-the-scenes content
about the progress of the contest. Both MSN.com and Glam.com will host co-branded landing pages with info about voting, judge profiles, dress trends and in-depth interviews with designers. Profiles
and bios of the finalists will also be available on both sites throughout the contest.
Through the end of January, designers can submit original sketches of dresses they have designed for the
chance to ultimately win a grand prize package of a trip to New York to apprentice at a fashion house for the day. A panel of expert judges includes fashion designers Monique Lhuillier and Adam
Lippes, celebrity stylist and designer Tina Knowles, Lord & Taylor Divisional Merchandise Manager for Contemporary Sportswear Vanessa Lefebvre, Glam Media CEO Samir Arora and PR guru Paul Wilmot.
Glam.com's expert editorial team will select four groups of eight semifinalists to be featured in a weekly slide show during February where Glam and MSN readers will have the opportunity to vote each
week on their favorite dresses. The top two semifinalists chosen each week will move to the final round, for eight total finalists. Finalists will be given three weeks to make the dress they
originally sketched, and present their original creations to a panel of notable judges who will then convene to decide on one ultimate winner on April 7.
