CBS, NBC Fight for Nielsen Lead

CBS and NBC continued their neck-and-neck run for primetime primacy with a nearly equal showing in the week ending Sunday.

CBS placed a 8.4 rating and a 14 share, just ahead of NBC's 8.3 rating and 13 share. ABC followed with a 6.5 rating and an 11 share in households, ahead of FOX's 5.5 rating and 9 share. The WB scored a 2.7 rating and 4 share. UPN scored a 2.5 rating and 4 share and Pax received a 0.9 rating and 1 share.

Once again, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation topped the ratings, bringing ratings leader CBS a 17.3 rating and 18.4 million homes. NBC's Friends was second, with 15.6 and 16.6 million homes. Two more NBC programs followed, ER with a 15.3 and 16.3 million homes and Law & Order, with a 13.5 and 14.3 million homes. Everybody Loves

Raymond from CBS received a 12.7 and 13.5 million homes.

CSI: Miami followed in sixth place with a 12.2 and 12.9 million homes.

The rest of the top 10 were Scrubs (NBC), 11.4 and 12.1 million homes; Law & Order: SVU (NBC), 10.9 and 11.6 million homes; NFL Monday Night Football: New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (ABC), 10.9 and 11.6 million homes and Will & Grace (NBC), 10.9, 11.5 million homes.

Survivor: Thailand, a CBS show that has been doing well on Thursdays, dropped from 8th place two weeks ago to 11th this past week, with a 10.7 share and 11.4 million homes.
