Premiere Opens New Plan

According to Reuters, Hachette Filipacchi on Tuesday said it will raise the price of Premiere and cut its frequency. Starting with the February 2003 issue, Premiere will carry a cover price of $3.99 per issue, up from its current $3.50, while its introductory subscription price will go up 20 percent. The current average subscription price for Premiere is $17.40 for 12 issues. The rate base will be cut to 500,000 from 600,000 to better reflect its core readership and frequency will be moved to 10 times a year, from 12 times, with two annual double issues.
