Visions of TiVos are apparently dancing through most women’s heads this holiday season. A new survey by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) found that 58% would rather be given a
high-definition TV over a one-karat diamond ring. Even more (64%) would choose a digital camera over half-karat diamond stud earrings. In fact, when compared to men, women expressed a higher level of
interest in both color TVs (63%) and digital cameras (43%). Researchers found that women's overall interest in technology products is on the rise, with 42% expressing interest in consumer electronics
products. Women spend about $55 billion a year on consumer electronics says Sean Wargo, director of industry analysis for CEA. “These survey results showing a significant portion of women saying they
are now more confident in purchasing electronics, we can only expect their collective buying power to increase as well.”
