OurStage Reaches Distribution Deal With AOL Music

  • March 6, 2008
OurStage, a sort of YouTube meets American Idol, has reached a distribution deal with AOL Music giving the site featured spot on the music portal.

OurStage lets artists submit original music videos for monthly contests in which users vote for their favorite acts. The top prize each month is $5,000.

AOL's Platform-A advertising arm will work with OurStage, which claims 1 million monthly visitors, to monetize the site. The two sites have an undisclosed ad-sharing arrangement. AOL Music's network of sites includes Spinner.com, PopEater.com and theboombox.com. The portal draws about 20 million monthly users.

Religious discrimination censorship and corruption at Ourstage

AOL's Ourstage has deleted the WinterBand fan page on behalf of a handful of false-christians who didn't like what we teach and filed frivolous "complaints"

Details and documentation are available at:

What has happened is outrageous religious censorship and discrimination.
Whether you love us or hate us consider the precedent that this situation establishes.

If anyone you know is investing time and effort building a presence and network of connections on Ourstage you owe it to them to make them aware of what is going on.

Looks like OurStage just partnered with another big company http://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2010/03/ourstage-and-mtv-partner-for-artist-discovery.html This seems like it could be really cool
