Buzztime Entertainment Inc. and Susquehanna Communications said Monday that it had added the Buzztime trivia channel to SusCom's digital cable programming lineup in Williamsport, Pa. Beginning in late
June, all of SusCom's 7,000 digital cable subscribers in Williamsport will be able to play on Buzztime's six 24-hour multiplayer channels of trivia games. Buzztime launched to 16,000 SusCom digital
cable subscribers in York on June 10. It said it was the first consumer iTV game channel to enable real-time multiplayer competitions on digital set top boxes in the U.S. More than 45% of York's
digital cable households have registered and played along with Buzztime so far.
Buzztime said that the addition of a second SusCom system will allow for a unique competition (Williamsport vs.
York) and other competitions and promotions created specifically to build community for SusCom. Buzztime players in Williamsport will be in cross-competition with digital cable subscribers on SusCom
in York and on Time Warner Cable of Maine in Portland, Maine. During each game, 15 local leaderboards will show the top 10 scores among local players. At the conclusion of each game, a national
leaderboard will display the top 10 scores nationwide. Buzztime Entertainment will continue to link players across all subscribing digital cable systems nationwide, with the potential for competitions
with tens of thousands of simultaneously ranked players. Buzztime features six channels of play-along trivia games for players of all interests and ability levels with real-time competition and
rankings among households. Buzztime game play categories include TV Trivia, History Trivia, Kids Only Trivia, Music Trivia, Sports Trivia and another called Countdown
