It's Not Just Google...

As a point of clarification, the article titled "Google CEO Predicts Marketing To Become More Analytical" is not entirely correct. Google engineers did not, in fact, create a technology that allowed concertgoers to ask the band questions and get responses. RPA (Honda's AOR) created the Civic Tour concert series with Honda and developed both the widget that allows for submission of questions to the band. What Google actually provided was an ad network that supported the distribution of this widget as an ad unit. With all of the (often justifiable) attention that Google receives for its ad products, it's become easy for many to overlook the technical development and strategic work done by clients and their partner agencies. In this case, Google provided an ad product - the client and agency provided the strategy and marketing analysis.
