Publishing Group of America, the Tennessee-based publisher of American Profile, has hired veteran music journalist Beverly Keel as the magazine's entertainment editor. Keel, an associate professor in
Middle Tennessee State University's Department of Recording Industry, has written about music for People, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly and The Washington Post. "I believe that the lives and art of
many of today's entertainers go hand-in-hand with the interests of our readers," she said in a press release. Added executive editor Charlie Cox: "Our studies have shown that American Profile readers
all across the country identify strongly with country and traditional music. Having [Keel] as a part of our editorial team underscores our commitment to our readers." American Profile is carried
weekly by more than 1,000 newspapers in the U.S. and boasts a circulation in excess of 5 million.
