Spade To Host Teen Choice Awards on Fox

Actor and comedian David Spade is set to host The 2003 Teen Choice Awards airing Wednesday, Aug. 6. Spade will next be seen starring in the Paramount feature film "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star" which he co-wrote. Spade plays the title character Dickie Roberts, a struggling actor who hasn't seen the light of fame since puberty. The film chronicles the life of this has-been as he re-lives his childhood in order to land a plum movie role.

Spade has also starred in numerous feature films including "Joe Dirt," which he co-wrote, "The Emperor's New Groove," "Tommy Boy," "Black Sheep," "Lost & Found," "Reality Bites," "Light Sleeper" and "Coneheads." Spade is best known for his role as Dennis Finch, the wise-cracking, power-hungry assistant on "Just Shoot Me" and for his five-year stint as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live." In addition to "SNL," Spade headlined his own HBO special "David Spade: Take the Hit." Spade is the first-ever host of The Teen Choice Awards where the coolest stars will receive surfboard awards in categories such as "Choice Breakout TV Show," "Choice Movie Chemistry," "Choice Reality/Variety Show," "Choice Breakout Artist," "Choice Male Hottie," "Choice Female Athlete" and "Choice TV Sidekick." Teens can vote for the winners by logging on to AOL Keyword: Teen Choice Awards, hosted by AOL Television and Teen People.
