Court TV Chairman/CEO Henry Schleiff appointed Art Bell to the position of president and chief operating officer of Court TV, and Galen Jones to the newly created position of executive vice
president/corporate strategist. Both will report to Schleiff. Bell moves to the position from executive vice president, programming and marketing, a position he has held since 2000. In addition to his
current responsibilities for programming, production, creative services and marketing, along with corporate communications, he will now also oversee affiliate relations and ad sales. He will succeed
former President and COO Dick Beahrs, who is leaving the position to become an adviser to the network.
Bell joined Court TV in 1998 as executive vice president of strategic planning and
Programming. He was the guiding force behind the phenomenal development of the Court TV brand and programming. He was just honored with the 2003 Promax Brand Builder Award. Before joining Court TV, he
worked in various divisions of AOL Time Warner Inc. for more than 14 years, including senior management positions at HBO and at Comedy Central. While at HBO, he spearheaded the idea and business plan
for the Comedy Channel, which became Comedy Central. Jones moves from his current position as executive vice president, strategy and planning, and general manager of Court TV Online. In addition to
Galen's current responsibilities for long range planning, new business and research as well as Court TV's three web sites, Galen will add his oversight to the area of finance. Jones' distinguished
background includes extensive experience in senior management positions at AOL, Comedy Central and several years at HBO
