Video Game Magazines Get Ads

Ziff Davis Media's publications covering video games saw a 47% increase in advertising pages for the first quarter of 2002 compared to 2001, according to Adscope, a division of Competitive Media Reporting. The first quarter covers the issues that go on sale January through March, include the flagship Electronic Gaming Monthly, Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine and Game Now. Electronic Gaming Monthly, the publication of choice for early adopters of the Xbox, GameCube, and PlayStation 2 console systems, led the charge with a whopping 50% increase, up 307 ad pages the first quarter of 2002 versus 204 pages the first quarter of last year.
