MeasureCast Index Drops

  • April 10, 2002
Webcasters measured by MeasureCast streamed fewer hours of online radio programming during the week of March 25 than they did the previous week, causing the MeasureCast Internet Radio Listening Index to dip 5% after two successive weeks of increases. The top four stations in the MeasureCast Top 25 list finished the week in the same positions they did the week before. Virgin Radio took first place for the fourth consecutive week. Virgin was followed by Clear Channel Worldwide-owned JazzFM, The New York Times' WQXR-FM, and Classic Radio Inc.'s KING-FM. For internet radio networks, The Clear Channel Worldwide network of online radio stations maintained its number one ranking based on the total number of hours streamed. Its 198 streaming AM and FM stations delivered 1,197,033 hours. The second most-popular streaming radio network was Warp Radio. Its 168 AM and FM stations streamed a total of 630,905 hours.
