To be fair, Hasbro has been talking with the developers [of Scrabulous] for a while. Anyone who has been in the wWb business long enough has witnessed the collusion of time, opportunity, and offer. No one knows what Hasbro has already put on the table, but we've all also experienced individuals who overvalue their own contribution to an idea and miss the bus all together by standing their ground.

These guys didn't invent Scrabble, they brought it online. There's a fairly major difference between the two. Hasbro is intimately familiar with the comings and goings of game popularity and may be negotiating from a position of experience knowing that what's hot today may not have long term value.

There's a role and a value for Scrabulous within Hasbro. Assessing that value is probably much more complex than what we're seeing.
