Um...wow? If I've got this right, [with AMC allowing non-AMC-affiliated tweeters to twitter as "Mad Men" characters], the following just happened:
Marketing trumped legal. A
precedent has been set regarding a major media property and what we might call a version of "fan fiction." The corporate ship turned not like an aircraft carrier, but like a jet ski -- fast and
sharply. The twitter-verse won, once again. I'd say that's a pretty good day's work. Let's get a drink.
P.S. - My father was an actual mad man, working with CD the late Warren
Pfaff and AD Bob Stewart at JWT throughout the 60s and into the 70s when those three set up their own shop. He wrote the words "Pan Am make the going great."
