Black Entertainment Television (BET) will be hosting an awards ceremony, and live telecast, to honor African-American achievement in the entertainment industry. The first annual BET Awards event and
telecast, which will be hosted by two of the Kings of Comedy, Steve Harvey and Cedric The Entertainer, will take place on June 19, 2001 at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. A media briefing to present the
celebrity hosts, unveil the awards categories, and reveal the nominees, will take place on today.
