'Life' Mags Puts 10 Million Images On Google

  • November 19, 2008
Time Inc. said it is putting over 10 million images from Life magazine online using Google. Some 97% of these photos have never been seen by the public. In addition to the famous images of the Kennedy assassination or Martin Luther King, Jr., the collection includes the entire works left to the magazine from acclaimed Life photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt. The newly digitized images also include photos and etchings produced and owned by the magazine, dating back to the 1750s. Users can search the Life collection by either visiting its Google landing page or typing source:life after keywords entered into Google's main and image search engines.
