Steve [Baldwin], you are SO right on! As a recruiter & career consultant specializing in media, I have been telling people this for many years. In addition, with more mutiplatform positions, it can
help your career if you go work in a different medium or even take a marketing job in a different industry to really increase your hireability when the market picks up. The future media seller is
going to have a whole different set of skills than in the past -- and those that don't catch up, WILL be left in the cold.
The other thing I have seen with many advertising people is living
like the income will never end -- whoops. Now they are sunk when commissions shrink! They need to start really thinking about what they MUST have vs. what they THINK they need. We are in for a real
roller coaster ride!
