Nielsen and Metabyte Networks Sign Agreement

Nielsen Media Research and Metabyte Networks jointly announce the signing of a strategic agreement to enable audience measurement for Metabyte Networks’ MbTV personalization products and services. Under the terms of the agreement, households using MbTV enabled products and services will be measured within the existing national and local NMR television samples. Metabyte Networks’ MbTV personalization technology automatically learns the viewers’ TV-watching preferences without user intervention and then creates personalization profiles (MbTV thumbprints) that allows for the automatic recommendation, recording and deletion of programs based on the viewer’s preferences.
