The Internet ratings for the week ending August 13 from Nielsen//NetRatings show an increase in unique visitors for Bridgestone-Firestone.com and Ford.com. Bridgestone-Firestone.com's audience size
did not meet Nielsen//NetRatings' minimum requirements for reporting during the week ending August 6, but the announcement of the tire recall on August 9 pushed traffic to the site to more than
200,000 unique visitors during the week ending August 13.
The tire recall affected Ford customers as well. More than 291,000 unique visitors logged on to Ford.com during the week ending August
13, compared to 167,000 for the previous week. Traffic to the site increased 74 percent, making it the tenth fastest growing site at home in the U.S. for the week ending August 13.
