Janet Brown is CEO of FilmBuff, an award-winning full-service distribution company dedicated to delivering high quality, compelling film and video to targeted audiences. Founded in 2008, FilmBuff offers a comprehensive array of services and solutions for today’s evolving media landscape, partnering with creative filmmakers, publishers and brand marketers to reach, engage and inspire viewers around the world. A leader in film and video distribution both theatrically and digitally, FilmBuff has distributed more than 1,500 critically acclaimed titles to date, including “Exit through the Gift Shop,” “The Internet’s Own Boy,” “Road Hard,” “Artifact,” “All This Mayhem” and others, across Comcast, DirecTV, iTunes, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix and dozens of other platforms. Additionally FilmBuff has worked closely on content strategies with some of the world's top brands including illy, Norton, GE, Audi, Burt's Bees, Cole Haan and many others. FilmBuff’s strong relationships in the industry and premium distribution networks deliver entertainment properties to the right audiences, including affinity groups and niche outlets. Prior to FilmBuff, Janet was part of the media and entertainment strategy consulting practice at Accenture in London from 1998 until 2004 where she drove business strategy for clients including News Corp., Warner Music, Film Four, Telewest and Granada. After moving back to the U.S., she was a strategy consultant for Yahoo! Media Group and headed up research at Cinetic Media in New York. When FilmBuff started in 2008, Janet was appointed Chief Operating Officer and in 2010 was named CEO. In addition to FilmBuff, Janet serves on the Influencer Advisory Board at Sparks + Honey and is a mentor at the Founder Institute, the world's largest entrepreneur training and startup launch program, which helps aspiring founders across the globe build enduring technology companies. A native of Toronto, Janet received a B.A., Joint Honors in economics and political science from McGill University and an MBA from Columbia University.
