Bruner Named GMA SVP, Science & Regulatory Affairs

Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) has appointed Leon Bruner as SVP, Scientific & Regulatory Affairs, effective Aug. 27.

The position's purview includes oversight of the association's platforms and initiatives in food and product safety, health and wellness, environmental sustainability and other areas.

Bruner is a 23-year veteran of the consumer products industry who has served in a variety of positions at Procter & Gamble and its Gillette Company, including most recently as director, environment, health and safety for Gillette. His areas of expertise include development and application of non-animal toxicity product testing methods and product safety and regulatory compliance.

Bruner holds a doctor of veterinary medicine degree and a Ph.D. in pharmacology, both earned at Michigan State University, where he also received his bachelor's degree.
