Kravitz Song Drives New Jeep Spot

Lenny-Kravitz-campaign

The Chrysler Group continues to pony up big bucks for soundtracks in its campaigns. Following an Eminem hit in an ad for a new Chrysler model, the Jeep brand is debuting an effort with a new song from Lenny Kravitz.

The campaign for the Wrangler model features "Rock Star City Life" from Kravitz's ninth album and debuted with two spots. Other spots will run only on Jeep social media platforms in June.

Kravitz has owned the same Jeep for 16 years and continues to drive it. Mike Manley, the CEO of Jeep, stated Kravitz "shares and understands the core values of the Jeep brand that include an authentic style, a no holds barred-adventurous approach to life, as well as mastering the ability to withstand the test of time."

Agency Global Hue is behind the campaign.

The campaign serves as another example of domestic automakers continuing to infuse the TV ad market. U.S. automakers are expected to be major participants in the coming upfront market.

The Chrysler spot debuted during the Super Bowl with Eminem in it, and subsequent versions have featured his music.
