NBCU Ups Suniewick To SVP, Strategic Integration

Company-wide synergy is not lost on big media companies.

Comcast Corp. and NBC Universal have promoted Maggie McLean Suniewick to the post of senior vice president of strategic integration. She will report to both Steve Burke, chief executive officer, NBCUniversal and Neil Smit, president/CEO of Comcast Cable. Smit is also executive vice president of Comcast Corp.

Suniewick will look to identify creative, technological and strategic opportunities between Comcast and NBCUniversal's assets. This will include NBCUniversal's key “Symphony” initiatives. Symphony is a strategic company-wide marketing effort promoting NBCUniversal programming, movies and events, including the Olympics, as well as Comcast's products and services, across the company.

Suniewick had been vice president of programming for Comcast Cable for three years, overseeing editorial and programming across all video platforms and consumer products, as well as Comcast’s Xfinity brand. Plus, she oversaw the company's TV Everywhere efforts.

Before Comcast, Suniewick worked at Oxygen Media in a number of roles.

Two recent companywide “integrations”:  Fall series "The Voice" and "The Blacklist” across NBCUniversal and Comcast platforms and Universal Pictures' "Despicable Me 2" across NBCUniversal.

Upcoming cross-company efforts include NBC’s Sochi Olympics, which will get promoting integration across NBCUniversal's entire portfolio, as well as Comcast and Xfinity platforms
