Butterball is making the most of its primo holiday this year by using seasonal packaging for the first time for its fresh turkeys and leveraging social media and a sweeps.

About 1.5 million turkeys will bear an image of Norman Rockwell's famous "Thanksgiving" painting, according to the brand.

Starting Nov. 2 and continuing throughout the month, Butterball will also be promoting a seasonal twist on Throwback Thursday (#TBT), by encouraging consumers to share their nostalgic Thanksgiving memories, using #TBThanksgiving across its Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram channels. 

In addition, Butterball is launching a “Throwback” sweepstakes that will run through the end of the year. The sweepstakes encourages folks to send their #TBThanksgiving photos, memories and recipes through December for a chance to win a $1,000 Visa gift card.
