WaterPik Has Ideas To Wash Away Holiday Stress

The holidays can be a stressful time, what with all the pressure of friends and family dropping in for short and/or long visits. It’s enough to make one crave a nice long, relaxing shower. 

WaterPik, a leading company in shower head replacement products, is here to help. The company is undertaking a new holiday campaign featuring its “Chief Shower Experience Officer” touting the benefits of a cold shower to recharge and refresh. 

“A great shower can make a difference in how you start your day,” Craig Fitzgerald, WaterPik’s director of marketing of shower products, tells Marketing Daily. “We work on a really lean marketing budget and felt this was a way we could reach our target.”

The online campaign suggests that one way to beat the stress (and high water bills) of holiday visitors is to install or gift WaterPik shower heads. According to the spokescharacter, the shower heads will “melt away the grinch in all of us,” even “that third cousin, six times removed that you’re not even sure you’re related to.” The shower heads actually reduce water usage, so they also “do Mother Earth a solid,” the character suggests.

“The video tells you about the WaterPik brand, not only the experience but also the engineering that goes into it,” Fitzgerald says. “It’s something people don’t think about unless you’ve had a really bad or really great shower experience.”

The video will run on WaterPik’s social channels as well as on YouTube and in some paid media placements, as well as possibly in retail outlets. The Chief Shower Experience Officer will appear in other efforts next year around other holidays and events, Fitzgerald says.
