Technonerd #1: "Hey did you catch any of the Live 8 concerts on TV?"

Technonerd #2: "No, but I did TiVo them, so I can watch them later."

Technonerd #1: "Well, did you see any of it online at the new AOL?"

Technonerd #2: "Meant to, but was busy editing my music downloads. Everybody tags a song a different way, so I have to rewrite the tags and it takes hours."

Technonerd #1: "So you missed everything?"

Technonerd #2 "Well no, I think I have the AOL music video in my RSS feed so I can check them out later."

Technonerd #1 "What are you doing now? Want to go to the gym?"

Technonerd #2 "Thanks, can't, have to program my cable PVR so I don't miss any shows that are on while I'm out."

Technonerd #1 "How many shows have you recorded?"

Technonerd #2 "About 75."

Technonerd #1 "Have you ever actually watched them?"

Technonerd #2 "No, too busy programming my cell phone so that each person gets a distinct ringtone. I have a lot of contacts in my directory."

Technonerd #1 "Do you ever read all the blogs in your RSS feed?"

Technonerd #2 "Not really, I have to plow through 24 e-newsletters and news aggregators everyday, so I don't often get to other content."

Technonerd #1 "I know you have about 200 bookmarks. How often do you get to each site?"

Technonerd #2: "Well, some of them never, but I have sites bookmarked that I might need someday like the Metro North train schedule."

Technonerd #1: "I can never remember what's in my bookmarks, so when I want to find something I just Google for it."

Technonerd #2: "Honestly, so do I but then I have to dig through 25 irrelevant listings to find what I really need... takes a lot of time."

Technonerd #1: "Time is something you never seem to have any more."

Technonerd #2: "You know it is kind of weird. I buy all these electronic devices that are supposed to save me time and let me see only the content I want to see when I want to see it. But I spend so much time programming in what I want and when I want it, that I never have time to actually watch or do anything."

Technonerd #1: "So why do it?"

Technonerd #2: "So I don't have to see any annoying ads!"
