SVOD: Stern Video-On-Demand, Howard Gets Sirius With Pay TV

Howard Stern has moved his TV show in the same direction as his radio show: to a more raunchy, unregulated, and subscription-based media environment.

Stern signed a three-year deal with pay-per-view and video-on-demand distributor, In Demand, to carry a TV version of his upcoming Sirius satellite daily show. The show will look similar to Stern's current show on E!, but will sound much different. Think more adult language.

In Demand, the large U.S. pay-per-view distributor, will offer the Stern show to cable networks via subscription video-on-demand (SVOD). This requires people to subscribe to a digital cable box, and in this case, pay $10 extra each month to get the standalone channel that carries Stern.

Each day's four-hour radio show will be edited down to between 60 and 90 minutes. In Demand also nabbed rights to a number of Stern pay-per-view specials.
