Character Adds Growth Heads

Branding and design agency Character is installing two new heads of growth as part of the agency’s business development strategy at its two-year-old New York office and its headquarters in San Francisco, founded 20-plus years ago.

Anna Boyarsky will work out of the agency’s San Francisco office while Amir Ouki will oversee operations in its New York office.

Both are tasked with developing new business growth in their respective offices, including assessing and structuring new opportunities, managing relationships with Character’s brand and venture capital (VC) communities, and driving public awareness of the agency’s work with clients such as Netflix, Google, and Instagram.

“Character has a long-established history as the leading branding agency in San Francisco, but what really caught my attention was the caliber and complexity of projects that the New York studio had been awarded in such a competitive market,” says Ouki on his decision to join the agency.

Ouki previously led growth for Collins’ global offices, as well as handled development at a VC-backed, financial-tech startup.

Prior to joining Character, Boyarsky managed Mekanism’s San Francisco office and oversaw brand relations for the agency. She previously spent time on the brand side working in-house for Method Cleaning Products.

The new arrivals are the latest in a number of recent hires at Character, which include creatives who joined the agency from firms such as R/GA and Pentagram.
