Retailers Offer Special Sales Events For July 4

July 4 is a major holiday for retail sales, with many retailers offering sales events around the holiday.

Here are some of the most notable.

Amazon is offering many sales in home goods, electronics, and other areas. Amazon has put its Pelonis 16-inch Oscillating Pedestal Stand-Up Fan on sale at $62, rather than the usual $80. The online retailer giant and marketplace has also slashed the price of its Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker from $100 to $85 and the Weber Original Kettle 22-inch Charcoal Grill is on sale for $139, which is 10% off the regular price.

Amazon is also gearing up for Prime Day -- July 11-12 -- when it plans to host another sales extravaganza.

July 4 is a big holiday for sleep-related goods. Mattress Firm is offering a king-size bed for the price of a queen, and a queen for the price of a twin. Nectar Sleep is offering 33% off sitewide through July 11.

Best Buy: The retailer is offering up to 40% off on appliances, including outdoor grills.

Walmart: Flash deals on home goods are up to 65% off at Walmart.

Meanwhile, non-retail brands are mostly avoiding July 4 ads. One exception is Pepsi, which developed “Colachup,” a special sauce offered in Yankee Stadium in New York, Target Field in Minneapolis and Comerica Park in Detroit.

The National Retail Federation reported that the average spend per person in 2022 was $84.12, which places the July 4 holiday in the No. 11 spot on the NRF’s list of U.S. consumer spending events.
