UK Finance Selects M&C Saatchi To 'Reach' Worried Mortgage Holders

UK Finance, which represents more than 300 firms across the nation's banking and finance industry, tapped M&C Saatchi London to develop "Reach Out," a rapid response multichannel campaign to raise awareness for customers worried about higher monthly repayment costs.

The campaign highlights support available from mortgage lenders.

Rising interest rates mean many mortgage customers, including those coming to the end of their fixed-term deals, may face a hefty uptick in monthly repayments. Recently, many banks and lenders in the UK signed up to the government’s Mortgage Charter to give borrowers help through potentially challenging times.

M&C Saatchi teamed with media agency Goodstuff, which will oversee media buying and planning for the campaign.

The first incarnation went live July 31 with OOH, radio, print and digital. A TV spot will follow in September.

M&C Saatchi pitched for the project in partnership with media agency Goodstuff, which will oversee media planning and buying for the campaign.

Clare Richardson, business director, M&C Saatchi, said: “Lenders have responded to interest rate pressures with real support for customers in need. The campaign will deliver this message at pace and scale to people who are concerned and make a real, meaningful difference.”

In the year prior to January 2023, lenders helped over 200,000 borrowers who couldn’t meet their full mortgage payments and more than 2 million who needed financial difficulty assistance.
