Nexstar Hires Schulman For Platform Marketing

Nexstar Media Group, the largest U.S. owner of TV stations, has hired long-time media veteran Stacey Lynn Schulman as executive vice president of platform marketing and intelligence.

Schulman will be responsible for developing unique creative opportunities for advertisers for all Nexstar’s local and national audiences, as well as overseeing marketing efforts for the company’s advertising-sales research activities.

Schulman will report to Michael Strober, Nexstar’s executive vice president and chief revenue officer of Nexstar.

Previously, she was chief marketing officer at Katz Media Group, and held senior executive positions at Turner Broadcasting, Interpublic Group and the Television Bureau of Advertising.

Schulman started at CBS honing her marketplace data expertise across print, radio, cable, digital and broadcast television platforms.

For the last nine months of 2023, Nexstar’s revenue slipped 2.6% to $3.6 billion.

Total advertising revenue for that period was down 16% to $1.25 billion. Adjusted cash flow -- earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization -- was 35% lower to $1.06 billion.

In addition to its 200 owned or partner stations in 116 U.S. markets reaching 212 million people, Nexstar has a 75% majority stake in The CW.

Nexstar closed that deal in October 2022. It also owns cable TV news network NewsNation; locally based multicast networks Antenna TV and Rewind TV, and a 31.3% ownership stake in TV Food Network.
