Latin Grammys Attract Major Ad Sponsors

The Latin Recording Academy today announced a number of corporate TV sponsors--many that are returning sponsors of the eight-time TV event.

Major sponsors include Heineken USA, Clinique, Wal-Mart, Verizon, Verizon Wireless, WaMu, Univision Online, Univision Radio, Allstate Insurance Company, Delta Air Lines, McDonald's, and Wrigley's.

The event will be aired on Univision Network on Nov. 8 from the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas.

Heineken will honor the 2007 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year, Juan Luis Guerra, and the Latin Grammy After Party. The brewer is also a sponsor of the "Green Carpet" arrivals.

Clinique is the official cosmetic of the Latin Grammy Awards, providing different lipsticks to all Grammy guests walking the "Green Carpet." Clinique is cross-marketing the event at makeup counters across the country.

This year, Wal-Mart will sponsor a "welcome bleacher" at the arrivals, giving fans a good view of the celebrity limo dropoffs. Verizon and Verizon Wireless will offer exclusive V Cast video coverage of the pre- and post-shows, including interviews with nominees.

Returning sponsor Washington Mutual will be a sponsor of the Latin Grammy street parties. It also partnered in a promotion with the academy to bring Latin music and artists to local high schools.

Delta Airlines has been launching a radio promotion for which two listeners won two round-trip tickets to attend the award show. McDonald's, through its Museo de la Música McDonald's--a museum on wheels showcasing memorabilia from a variety of artists in the Latin music industry--has run a contest. The grand prize is a trip for two to attend this year's awards show.
