Normalcy Returns in First Full Week of Summer Season

A few weeks before the summer of unscripted shows hits full tilt, TV's first full week following May sweeps settled in a lot like weeks in the early part of the season. CBS led in total households and NBC won in adults 18-49.

Most of the top 25 programs for the week ended Sunday were repeats, with the exceptions following the top 10: 60 Minutes II ended up in 11th place, followed by the premiere of NBC's Fame in 14th place and Crime and Punishment in 15th place. Two CBS entries, a special called Funny Flubs and Screw Ups was also tied for 15th place and the Amazing Race 4 came in 18th. Dateline and 20/20, both on Friday, were in the top 20s. Yet the top program was a repeat of the season's top show in HH, CSI, delivering an 8.8/15 with 13.48 million households.

In total HH, CBS delivered a 6.3/11, ahead of NBC (5.7/10), ABC (4.6/8); Fox (3.9/7); UPN (2/3), The WB (1.7/3) and Pax (0.8/1). In adults 18-49, NBC (3.1/10) came in ahead of CBS (2.7/8); Fox (2.7/8); ABC (2.4/7); UPN (1.3/4); The WB (1/3); and Pax (0.2/1).

  2. Law & Order (NBC), 8.5/15.

  3. 48 Hours Investigates (CBS), 8.3/14.

  4. CSI: Miami (CBS), 7.9/13.

  5. Will & Grace (NBC), 7.8/13.

  6. 60 Minutes (CBS), 7.7/13.

  7. CBS Sunday Movie (CBS), 7.7/13.

  8. Everybody Loves Raymond (CBS), 7.7/12.

  9. Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC), 7.5/12.

  10. Law & Order: SVU (NBC), 7.5/14.
