Edmunds Finds Auto Incentives Rose In June

  • July 2, 2008
Edmunds.com, the Santa Monica, Calif.-based online automotive shopping and research site, says auto incentives were up in June, averaging $2,356 per vehicle sold during the month--a $32 or 1.4% increase from May. But it's also slightly down from June last year.

The firm says GM and Toyota were the only two companies to increase incentives this month from last year, with Toyota incentives reaching a record high. Both GM and Toyota used the spiffs to move SUVs and trucks. General Motors' incentive increase came with its 72-hour sales campaign, and Toyota used increased tactical incentives to get haulers off dealer lots, per the firm.
