Current, the cross-platform media company co-founded by former Vice President Al Gore, on Tuesday announced that Paul Levine will join the company as president of new media. Levine will be based in
the company's San Francisco headquarters.
Most recently, Levine led product, marketing, and customer operations for AdBrite, an online ad marketplace backed by Sequoia Capital.
Levine previously served at Yahoo, where he worked as vice president and general manager of local services and led the initial launch and subsequent development of Yahoo Local.
In his new role at
Current, Levine will lead the company's consumer engagement and monetization initiatives for online, mobile, and emerging delivery platforms. In addition, he will further develop Current's
cross-platform strategy, offering content-specific channels in areas such as news, movies, music, comedy, games and the environment.
Comprising Current TV, which reaches 58 million households, and
Current.com, reaching 7 million monthly online users, Current is a fully integrated online and broadcast platform that helps young adult users engage with relevant news and information.--Gavin
