More 'Variety' Jobs Lost, Reed Axes 7% Of Workforce

Variety laid off more people this week, including Executive Editor Michael Speier and Assistant Managing Editor Dade Hayes, as well as six more edit staffers. Tad Smith, CEO of Variety parent company Reed Business Information, sent an email to personnel Tuesday explaining that Reed would be laying off 7% of its workforce and require remaining workers to take mandatory leave.
