In the latest rollout of its "Now Network" campaign, Sprint is sponsoring a Washingtonpost.com feature that lets people navigate an interactive map to find the latest articles, photos, video and
commentary on economic issues around the globe.
The first TimeSpace map on the site was first launched to provide articles and multimedia surrounding the 2008 presidential election
and has subsequently been used for subjects including the Inauguration and presidential travels. The latest map, unveiled Monday, focuses on economic news.
Sprint has signed on as exclusive
sponsor for all TimeSpace maps through the second quarter, as well as a July 4th version for which Post photographers will feed images of fireworks and festivities around the D.C.-area onto a map in
real-time using the wireless operator's 3G cards.
Sprint recently kicked off the online arm of its Now Network ad push with home page takeovers on major sites such as Yahoo, AOL and YouTube. It's
an extension of the "What's Happening Now" campaign on TV and other media and aimed at promoting the ability of Sprint's 3G network to handle all the messaging, Twittering and Web surfing by its
customers. --Mark Walsh
