The Washington Post is the latest property to integrate with Facebook Connect, allowing its users to log in to the newspaper's Web site with their Facebook account information to share Post
content with friends on the social network.
"Facebook has more than 200 million active users worldwide, and providing a way for those people to connect to our site through Facebook
promotes a more robust conversation about our content beyond the walls of our site," said Goli Sheikholeslami, general manager and vice president, Washington Post Digital, in a statement.
The
Post joins other sites that have become part of Facebook Connect in the last year including YouTube, Hulu, Digg and Gawker Media. In addition to plugging into Facebook Connect, the Post said it's
pursuing other initiatives such as creating more live discussions, encouraging user-generated content and developing a more personalized experience for users. --Mark Walsh
