Borders Organizes 'Trivia Smackdown' For Kids

Borders and its Waldenbooks unit are sponsoring a chainwide trivia contest June 27, encouraging kids to compete in such categories as Dr. Seuss, Harry Potter, Fudge, and Artemis Fowl books. Winners of each heat advance to the semifinal and eventually final rounds for prizes.

The event is timed to coincide with the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based chain's Summer Reading Challenge, which runs through Aug. 31. For every eight books read by a child 12 and under, s/he can choose one book from a number of titles - including Bunnicula -- priced at just $4.99, a savings of at least 50%.--Sarah Mahoney
