New iPhone App from Comcast

  • July 17, 2009
Comcast has launched a free iPhone app that lets users check Comcast email and home voicemail in one inbox, synch address book contacts, browse TV listings and watch trailers for on-demand movies, among other things.

Existing customers with a Comcast.net user ID can download the app and immediately have live access to their Comcast inbox and address books as well as the cable operator's SmartZone Communications Center for managing accounts.

A Comcast spokesperson said the new iPhone app only offers movie trailers, but that in the future it might be possible to provide full-length TV shows and movies. He added that the ability to use the app to program a DVR is planned for a future release. --Mark Walsh
