Arbitron: Place-based Networks Garnering Attention

  • August 11, 2009
Research from Arbitron shows 67% of Americans 18 and over (155 million) have encountered a place-based network -- be it at a gas pump or at a fast-food restaurant -- over the past month. The study covered 17 types of digital video displays.

Other findings: 14% of adults "noticed" a display in an office building or elevator in the past month. And "a person watching a video display at a transit hub is twice as likely to be Hispanic compared to the population at large."

Arbitron and Edison Research conducted the research, interviewing 1,666 people from Jan. 16 - Feb. 15 by telephone.
