Nestlé Cookie Dough Back In Stores

  • August 19, 2009
Nestlé Toll House refrigerated cookie dough is returning to store shelves, with a prominent "New Batch" label on packages, after being recalled nearly two months ago.

The voluntary recall occurred in mid-June, after the FDA warned consumers not to eat the refrigerated dough following reports of E. coli O157:H illnesses linked to ingestion of the dough in its raw state.

Nestlé has advised consumers who bought recalled products not to eat them, and instead return them to the grocery store for a full refund. The company has also strongly advised consumers to heed the warning not to eat raw cookie dough that is on the product's label.--Karlene Lukovitz
